Overview

plantHub is a website/app in which users can discover what plants work for them and have them delivered right to their door.

Discovering the Problem

My first step was to conduct user interviews to discover what the problem was I was trying to solve. I wanted to figure out people's favorite and least favorite parts about plants while also figuring out their process.

The Problem

Transportation is the biggest issue, whether someone's car isn't big enough, or the place is too far, users are unable to get the plants they want. Another issue is the lack of knowledge about plants for their particular environment. They are afraid to invest money into a plant that might immediately die.

My Solution

In order to make buying plants easier and more enjoyable, we need to eliminate transportation difficulties, as well as find a way to educate users on what plants would work best for them. There also needs to be a way to lower cost via a subscription or through discounted plants.

Who is plantHub for?

I created user personas from the data I got in my interviews. Most users will likely be in their mid twenties to early thirties. They will likely be moving into their first apartment or home, and want to furnish it with plants. They may have transportation issues because they use public transportation, or because they have a small car and will be looking for a way to get around said issue while buying plants.

Wireframes - Subscription Signup Process

The main draw of plantHub will be it's subscription so I made that the main call to action on the top of the splash page. This was my first experience with wireframing in Adobe XD, but I got the hang of it quickly.

High-Fidelity - Subscription Signup Process

When bringing in the UI and color palette I wanted the site to feel playful, clean, and streamlined. I opted for a vector art approach with some real leaves as well to breathe life into the site.
